OTTAWA, Ont.— Ramadan Mubarak! We ask Allah SWT to grant us a month that is filled with good deeds and we ask Him to grant us the ability to attain His mercy.
Ramadan is a month of spiritual reflection through the increase of good deeds and refraining from that which brings us further away from Allah SWT. With the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions finally lifting after 2 years, Muslims in Canada can finally return to having a normal Ramadan.
Many of us have children who were too young to remember what Ramadan was like before the pandemic. Now is a great time to get them to start doing their good deeds even if they aren’t able to fast yet!
In collaboration with the United Muslim Organizations of Ottawa-Gatineau (UMO-OG), we have created a free calendar that will help your child (aged 7-11) to track their good deeds during the month of Ramadan. This calendar will help them build daily habits and will allow them to experience the spirit of Ramadan while still allowing them to enjoy it as children.
Visit the page below to download a free PDF version of the calendar. Some mosques will also be handing out physical copies so be sure to be on the lookout!
As always, Sidra Treehouse is here to support Muslim families and children in their journey to become strong and capable Muslims. We hope to continue building on this work to support children across our city and minimize the impact of the pandemic.
Stay tuned for more Sidra programs coming soon.
